Our Bride Olivia in Sassi Holford for a wedding inspired by old Hollywood Glamour
Olivia fell in love with Emma by Sassi Holford which she discovered at The Pantiles Bride… she tells us more about this elegant and contemporary gown…
“The dress was such a pleasure to wear. It was a Sassi Holford creation with a classic style and a long train, which I loved. I felt so elegant wearing it and loved the sophistication of the silk zibeline dress with the lace sleeves, bardot neckline and matching veil. It was so light and comfortable to wear and it fitted perfectly. It also kept my warm on a wintery day! One of my favourite features was the secret pockets – perfect for a tissue (for the groom’s tears surprisingly not mine!) and my lip balm. It also had lots of lovely timeless details, such as the ribbon edged hem. Everyone was very complimentary about my dress and said it was “me”.
The Pantiles Bride is bridal heaven on earth and Alexandra is an angel! From the first visit, there was never any pressure to make a purchase and I always felt I had the time and advice I needed to make considerate decisions I didn’t then worry about at a later date. The choice at the boutique is vast and Alexandra was excellent at providing lots of creative options when I had an idea that wasn’t available necessarily in one dress. This is effectively how I ended up with one dress with three different looks.
My mum came with me on all visits and then my sisters and my best friend came on different occasions which was lovely as I always had a constant (my mum) and new (the others) opinion with every fitting. I was confident that I had picked the right dress, but it’s always nice to have reassurance from people you love. The Pantiles Bride was the first shop I visited and I never wanted to go anywhere else, I knew I wanted a bardot style dress but thought I would have gone for a fishtail style. The dress I ended up picking was so beautiful and I still feel guilty she was only worn once – but what a day it was! Alexandra helped me to create the bardot style by choosing the Emma dress by Sassi Holford and then adding a lace jacket and matching veil. I loved the dress – it had pockets – practical as well as perfectly beautiful! The dress was made from silk zibeline and the lace had some added sparkle added to it on the sleeves, neckline and veil. It was so beautifully made and quite simply the most wonderful thing I have ever worn.”
