On the day of your appointmentt choose your companions carefully - it’s best just to bring one or two people whose opinions you really trust. If you bring more people, you’ll find that all their different views will be confusing.

You should ideally order your gown six months before your wedding so start looking early. The earlier you order the more relaxed everything will be. Once you know what you’re going to wear, it’s easier to build the rest of your wedding plans around it.

More importantly all of our gowns are made to order and this takes time.

We like to make sure that we have your gown in store at least two months before your wedding, so we have time to ensure that everything is exactly to your requirements and to allow for any alterations that are needed.

We need an absolute minimum of four to five months notice for most gowns but don’t worry if your wedding date is less than that - just come and see us as soon as possible as we are still able to organise some gowns at short notice, but your choice may be more limited. Even if your wedding is only weeks away we are still able to supply ex-sample gowns many under half price.

If you are planning to lose weight before the wedding, it’s still a good idea to order early as the alterations don’t occur until four weeks before the wedding, thus enabling you to lose the pounds and still achieve the perfect fit.

When you come to try on the dresses it’s worth giving your underwear a bit of thought - if you have a strapless bra or bustier, wear it on the day of your appt or bring it along, and control top tights can give a smoother line under the gowns. We provide shoes for you to try on with the dresses.

Try not to have too many fixed ideas about what you want, and be prepared to change your mind! Many brides end up with something completely different to their original ideas.
